Now Hiring Meat Mongers: join the Goose Gang

Goose the Market is accepting applications for Meat Monger (part-time with the potential to grow to full time) and Head Meat Monger (full time).

Please apply in person at Goose the Market at 2503 N Delaware St. ideally between the hours of 2-4pm Monday through Friday. Applicants who cannot apply in person may email a cover letter and resume to news [at] goosethemarket.com No phone calls or social media inquiries, please.

Meat Monger work includes:
• greet guests and receive orders
• learn about a quickly rotating selection of products
• prep and make sandwiches + slice and package orders
• maintain organization and cleanliness
• plus more!

Qualities of the ideal Meat Monger include:
• a passion for great food and drink
• learns quickly
• maintains positive attitude and team spirit
• a commitment to exceptional front-line customer service
• prior retail, food service, or culinary experience is a plus but not required 

The Head Meat Monger oversees all aspects of fresh meat sales and leads the team in customer service. Responsibilities include:  
• order and receive fresh meats and seafood
• make and execute plans for merchandising fresh meats 
• hands-on seam butchering and assisting staff in butchering techniques 
• oversee meat curing and smoking as well as sausage making 
• fill customers' special orders 
• ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas 
• coordinate daily tasks with management
• cultivate expert product knowledge and train staff
